How to wire it

Lights go on the crown end. Power comes in at the other end. Red to red, black to black.

Tap to test. Hold to check that it dims. If it won't dim, swap the ends.

Tap to turn the lights on or off. Hold to dim or brighten, and let go at the level you want. A light touch works, even with gloves.
The end away from the crown. The lights connect at the crown end. Wired backwards, it won't dim. Just swap the ends.
Up to 3 amps of lights: 2× 40", 4× F-28, 8× F-12 or 6× V-12. You can mix F- and V-Series, just add up the amps: F-40 1.1, F-28 0.7, F-12 0.3, V-40 1.4, V-12 0.5.
Yes. It comes back on at the same brightness every time you tap it on, until you change it.
No. The Touch Dimmer isn't weatherproof. Put it inside a cab or cap, or under a bed cover. For outside, get the Rotary Dimmer. It's weatherproof (IP54).
No. On F-Series lights, color is set on the light. Turn the light on and pick white or red with its buttons. The dimmer then turns it on, off and dims it in that color. To switch colors, press the button on the light.
About 6" on each end, 20 AWG, with bare wire ends, ready to connect. Add the Power Cable to reach farther.
Rotary: weatherproof (IP54), a firm click button, and a dial you can feel. Touch: small and flat, tap to turn on, hold to dim, for inside spots only (not weatherproof).
Any 12V DC source works, like a power station's 12V outlet. Most USB ports are 5V, so they won't run the light. Some higher-power USB ports may work, but we don't recommend it.

Great idea unfortunately idk if i got a bad switch but it wouldn’t work unless the cover was taken off. Sucks i cant dim the light because t got it to work. Still a nice switch but things happen

Great product and I love how you and shift the light around. The dimmer switch is a must. Kinda bummed that it didn't come with 3M VHB tape, especially given the price. My first dimmer switch that came was DOA. The customer service is top notch and they sent me a new one right away with no charge. I would recommend this company and product to anyone.
The Kingpin light is awesome. I haven’t had an opportunity to use it on a camping trip yet but I have no doubt it will be a game changer. I’m going to be ordering a couple more soon.
My 2024 F250 6.7HO Limited really loves the light bar! Installation was real easy… attached it to existing screws in my cap. Just needed to add an additional hole to line them up. Works great. I highly recommend!
Not a big review writer but I couldn’t wait to write one about this Kingpin light I was able to use for the last weekend. Wow just wow. I’ve had a LOT of LED lights over the years in the various builds we’ve done.....I’m in love with this light. Perfection. Bright, even light with the excellent non-LED look coloring. I found I didn’t have to use my other lights due to how much light this puts out. Insane. Best part....that touch switch.....never even thought about how convenient a touch switch would be. Due yourself a favor if you’re considering this light. Buy it. Don’t mull it over. This light will put a smile on your face and everyone around will see it because of how much light the Kingpin light throws.

Dimmer does remember setting when externally powered off. Purchased unit to control interior convenience light always be dimmed to lowest setting. Literature accompanying received item suggested dimmer “memory”would reset each time unit lost power. In testing I found dimmer memory was retained when unit was powered down (externally); a good thing and just what I wanted/needed.
I love this switch. It feels so natural. A version 2 would be incredible if it had a small motor inside that spun whenever you hit it to give the sensation of it being clicked — haptic feedback. I’d happily pay more for that. The biggest need for the future of it though needs to have the words “load” and “light” written on the switch showing the side which needs to go to the battery and the direction in which energy needs to flow. The first time it got wired up, we wired it backwards.
The touch dimmer switch is an awesome addition to these lights! There could be a little extra wire on either side that would be helpful, but as long as you know what you're doing and have a plan you will be fine.

Does what it’s advertised to do, we’ll see how long it holds up. This product should be waterproof though considering the market they advertise to (overland rigs, etc). Also no mounting tape/velco. I mounted mine using 3M Dual Lock Velcro on the inside of my bed where it should be out of the elements due to my tonneau cover, but we’ll see. This item should be included with all bars for the price, you’ll definitely want this when using the light.
