Built on a kitchen table.
The first Kingpin lights were hand soldered, with 3D printed parts and stickers for logos. We needed a slim tailgate light that turns, doesn't glare and takes a beating. It didn't exist, so we made it.
Hi, I'm Chance.
I've always loved engineering and making things. I got my start building precision firearms in Georgia, then moved to Colorado and got to help develop a new refrigeration technology and, later, a fitness machine.
In 2021, I needed a light for my own tailgate, so I built one. After a year or two of people walking over and asking, “What is that?” I made the first 60 by hand on my kitchen table (that's them in the photo above). Life hasn't been the same ever since.
Now I get to build the gear I always wanted, and I don't take that for granted. I still design every product and answer almost every one of your questions from Lakewood, Colorado.
My goal is simple: world-class products and world-class customer service. If something isn't right, I want to hear about it. Don't ever hesitate to give us a call.

Made to be used hard
An aluminum body, a thick lens and a weatherproof (IP54) rating. Forest service crews, search and rescue teams and vehicle outfitters use them on the job.
Easy on the eyes
Every light is fully diffused. No hot spots and no glare, so you can stand right next to it. The F-Series adds a red mode for late nights.
