Each Kingpin switch handles 3 amps. That's up to 2× 40", 4× 28", 8× F-12 or 6× V-12 lights per switch. Mixing lengths? Add up the amps: F-40 is 1.1, F-28 is 0.7, F-12 is 0.3, V-40 is 1.4 and V-12 is 0.5.

Not for the F-Series: the on/off and color buttons are built in. Add a Rotary Dimmer if you want to dim it, or turn it on from another spot. The V-Series needs a switch.

Any 12V DC source: your starting battery, a house battery, a solar setup or a power station's 12V port. To run them from a wall outlet, use the AC Power Supply.

It's very efficient: the 40" draws 1.1 amps at full brightness. Run it for hours off your starting battery and still start up and leave.

It's almost always wired backwards. On the Rotary Dimmer, power from the battery goes in at the knob end, and the other end goes to the lights. On the Touch Dimmer, the crown end faces the lights. Swap the two ends and it will dim.

Our Power Supply Kit runs fused power 25 ft from the battery to your switch. Our Power Cable (30 ft, 20 AWG, red and black) runs from the switch to the lights and from light to light. You'll also need wire strippers, connectors or solder, and heat shrink tubing or electrical tape.

Every light comes with 3M VHB tape and screws, so you can use either. Add Search Mounts to turn an F-Series light 360°. They work with T-slot rails too.

Not with the lights on their own. They're sold separately, and they fit F-Series lights only. The F-Series 40" and 12" Light Kits include them, and so do the Dual-Color kits. V-Series lights have 180° rotation built in, so they don't need them.

Measure the spot. The 40" fits full beds, caps, hatches and trailer ceilings. The 28" fits mid beds and shells. The 12" fits side doors, drawers and small boxes. Lots of people mix lengths.

F-Series lights are 1.13" wide and 0.85" tall, in 12", 28" and 40" lengths. On Search Mounts, a light is about 1" longer overall and 1.375" tall. Each product page lists the exact size.

Yes. It's weatherproof (IP54): dust-protected and splash-proof from any direction. Don't submerge it. The Touch Dimmer isn't weatherproof, so use the Rotary Dimmer outside.

The white is 4000K neutral white. F-Series lights do white and red in one light. V-Series lights are white only.

Red is easy on your night vision. It's good for late nights at camp and early mornings, and it attracts fewer bugs. Every F-Series light has a button to switch between white and red.

Yes. On F-Series lights, set white or red as the start-up color, and it comes on in that color every time. The Touch Dimmer remembers your brightness.

No. A thick, diffused lens spreads the light evenly, so there are no bright hot spots and no harsh glare. It's easy to work under and easy to be around at camp.
