Wire it right the first time.
How many lights go on one switch, which end gets power, and what wire to use. Every Kingpin light runs on 12V DC.
How many on one switch
| Each switch | 3 amps max Add up the amps of every light on it. |
| F-Series 40" | 1.1 amps · up to 2 per switch |
| F-Series 28" | 0.7 amps · up to 4 per switch |
| F-Series 12" | 0.3 amps · up to 8 per switch |
| V-Series 40" | 1.4 amps · up to 2 per switch |
| V-Series 12" | 0.5 amps · up to 6 per switch |
| Mixing lengths | Add the amps One F-40 and two F-12s: 1.1 + 0.3 + 0.3 = 1.7 amps. That fits on one switch. |

Watch on YouTube →How to wire it
- Every cable has 2 wires. Connect red to red and black to black.
- Where the lights meet, the 3 reds join and the 3 blacks join.
- The yellow block is the 5A fuse on the red wire.
- 1
Run the Power Supply Kit from the battery to where your switch will go.
- 2
Wire the switch, then run Power Cable from the switch to the first light.
- 3
Join more lights red to red, black to black, and seal each joint.
You'll need wire strippers, connectors or solder, and heat shrink tubing or electrical tape.

Wiring questions
Each Kingpin switch handles 3 amps. That's up to 2× 40", 4× 28", 8× F-12 or 6× V-12 lights per switch. Mixing lengths? Add up the amps: F-40 is 1.1, F-28 is 0.7, F-12 is 0.3, V-40 is 1.4 and V-12 is 0.5.
Not for the F-Series: the on/off and color buttons are built in. Add a Rotary Dimmer if you want to dim it, or turn it on from another spot. The V-Series needs a switch.
Any 12V DC source: your starting battery, a house battery, a solar setup or a power station's 12V port. To run them from a wall outlet, use the AC Power Supply.
It's very efficient: the 40" draws 1.1 amps at full brightness. Run it for hours off your starting battery and still start up and leave.
It's almost always wired backwards. On the Rotary Dimmer, power from the battery goes in at the knob end, and the other end goes to the lights. On the Touch Dimmer, the crown end faces the lights. Swap the two ends and it will dim.
Our Power Supply Kit runs fused power 25 ft from the battery to your switch. Our Power Cable (30 ft, 20 AWG, red and black) runs from the switch to the lights and from light to light. You'll also need wire strippers, connectors or solder, and heat shrink tubing or electrical tape.
