Plan the route from the battery to the switch. Zip-tie it along the frame.
Join the bare end to the switch's power end: red to red, black to black.
Last, bolt the ring terminals to the battery: red (fused) to +, black to −.

Fused 12V power from your battery to the back of your truck, SUV, van, or trailer. You get 25 feet of 14 AWG two-wire cable with a 5 amp fuse already in the fuse holder.
Weather-tight ring terminals connect to the battery, and the far end is bare wire for your Kingpin switch. A tough sleeve covers the first five feet to protect the wire through the engine bay, and zip ties are included to hold it along the frame.
As it comes, it handles up to 5 amps. One Kingpin switch fully loaded is 3 amps, so you have room to spare. You can swap in a different fuse size if you need to.
Add up what's on at the same time. An F-Series 40" draws 1.1 amps, and a V-Series 40" draws 1.4 amps.
It reaches from the battery to the bed on most trucks and SUVs. Measure your route first, along the path you'll zip-tie to.
A standard automotive fuse. It comes with a 5A fuse in the holder, enough for 1 switch fully loaded (3 A). Running more lights? Size the fuse to your total amps.
Ring terminals bolt to the battery. The other end is bare wire: join it to the switch's power end, red to red, black to black.
Up to 3 amps of lights: 2× 40", 4× F-28, 8× F-12 or 6× V-12. You can mix F- and V-Series, just add up the amps: F-40 1.1, F-28 0.7, F-12 0.3, V-40 1.4, V-12 0.5.
Any 12V DC source works, like a power station's 12V outlet. Most USB ports are 5V, so they won't run the light. Some higher-power USB ports may work, but we don't recommend it.

Harness worked well but was not long enough for my f150 so I had to add wire. I followed the exact path of other wires from the battery so a bit annoying that it’s listed as one size fits all
