“I chose the analog rotory dial dimmer switch over the touch version mostly just for the tactile-ness of it. It functions amazing and a must have for the kingpin lighting set up, unless you like being blinded all the time lol. Also makes ease of acess to turn on the lights on and off much easier if your light is mounted high. Highly reccomend to buy, because it compliments the kingpin lights so well.”
“Mounted my light high and away so needed a remote switch. Being able to dim is a plus.”
“works great, really nice to have the dimmer. The full on is super bright, nice to have control as needed.”

Turn on your tailgate
Rig gear, cook, or pack up in the dark. Switch to red when it's time to sit back.

Trailers & toy haulers
Mount it where you load and unload.

Work zone

Full product description
The Kingpin Rotary Dimmer Switch is designed for those who need direct, immediate light control in any situation, rain or shine.
The power button is designed to withstand impacts in high traffic areas without turning on or off accidentally. It produces an audible "click" sound when pressed. Rotate the dial to adjust brightness.
Switch comes with die-cut 3M VHB tape for easy mounting on any flat surface. Kingpin crowns point toward the lights.
Control Capacity
12V, 3Amp Max (each)
Dimensions
2.7" L x 15/16" W x 1"T
Kingpin Pro Tip
The power button uses a mechanical switch (vs. digital) that gives you really positive feedback and a medium firmness. The switch body is designed to allow for multiple switches to be mounted in a tight, side-by-side configuration. We typically recommend powering no more than 2x 40's or 6x 12's per switch.
Good questions, short answers
The knob end. Power from the battery goes in at the knob end, and the lights connect at the button end, where the crowns point. Wired backwards, it only turns on and off and won't dim. Just swap the ends.
Up to 3 amps of lights: 2× 40", 4× F-28, 8× F-12 or 6× V-12. You can mix F- and V-Series, just add up the amps: F-40 1.1, F-28 0.7, F-12 0.3, V-40 1.4, V-12 0.5.
Yes. The dial stays where you left it, so the lights come back on at the same brightness.
No. On F-Series lights, color is set on the light. Turn the light on and pick white or red with its buttons. The dimmer then turns it on, off and dims it in that color. To switch colors, press the button on the light.
Yes. It's weatherproof (IP54): dust-protected and splash-proof from any direction. Don't submerge it.
About 6" on each end, 20 AWG, with bare wire ends, ready to connect. Add the Power Cable to reach farther.
Rotary: weatherproof (IP54), a firm click button, and a dial you can feel. Touch: small and flat, tap to turn on, hold to dim, for inside spots only (not weatherproof).
Any 12V DC source works, like a power station's 12V outlet. Most USB ports are 5V, so they won't run the light. Some higher-power USB ports may work, but we don't recommend it.
2 years from the ship date. Send a photo or video of the install and the issue, and we'll replace it or credit you.
